Call for abstracts

The Scientific Committee invites all interested authors to submit their scientific related abstracts to the 13th Nordic Nutrition Conference.

General criteria:

Abstracts must be written in the English language – abstracts submitted in other languages will not be accepted. The number of co-authors is limited to 10 per abstract, excluding the main author or presenter.

  1. A person can be presenting author for a maximum of two abstracts.

  2. Once submitted abstracts cannot be updated with new data.

  3. An e-mail address is compulsory in order to receive information about the submitted abstract.

  4. Authors must complete the disclosure section in the Abstract Submission Form.

  5. In submitting the abstract, the author also grants the 13th Nordic Nutrition Conference the right to publish abstracts in electronic form.

  6. The author/s shall indicate the preferred presentation format (oral or poster) of the submitted abstract. However, the Scientific Committee will decide over the final presentation format.

  7. Abstract submission assumes full acceptance of all these criteria. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject any abstract, if it is not adapted to any of these criteria.

  8. Abstract submission deadline is at midnight April 3rd 2024 CET

  9. Notification for posters and oral presentations has been sent to all presenters on April 25th. If you did not receive a note, pleas check your spam folder, if questions, plesae contact pco@apriil.no

  10. A presenting author must be registered at the conference as a paying participant by May 15th 2024, otherwise the abstract will be removed.

Abstract format and contents:

It is essential to pay attention to correct spelling and punctuation and follow the guidelines regarding format and style. No further format or content corrections will be made by the Scientific Committee or reviewers. Abstracts that fail to meet these criteria will be rejected.

Abstract form:

The submitted abstract should be written in sentence case, not in capital or lower case, not bolded.

 The submitted abstract shall contain the following information:

AUTHORS: Full names and surnames of all authors
AFFILIATION: Institutions only and country
TITLE: 30 words maximum
CONTENTS: Background and objectives; Methods; Results; Discussion

Authors must choose the topical areas in which they wish to present their abstract at the time of submission. Text length in the abstract body shall not exceed 350 words (excluding title, authors and affiliations).

Food science
Molecular nutrition
Nutrition methodology
( Other / miscellaneous)

Abstracts will be organized in tracks for reviewing and scheduling. The Scientific Committee will try to respect the author's choice of tracks but will have the right to change this if necessary.

Abstracts sent by fax, email or post will not be accepted.

If you encounter any difficulties during the submission process or for further information regarding abstract submission, please contact the appointed PCO via pco@apriil.no

Once you have sent your abstract via the submission system, check that you have received a confirmation e-mail. If you do not receive any confirmation, please please contact the lease contact the appointed PCO via pco@apriil.no

Disclosure statements

Disclosure section of the Abstract submission system is obligatory to be filled in for all submitting authors. It consists of these statements:

  • That the results and statements made in abstracts are original

  • Confirmation that all authors have approved the submission

  • That there is no conflict of interest of any of the authors

  • If there exists a conflict of interest it should be clearly stated

Negative answers to the first and last statement will exlude the author from finalizing the abstract submission.
